Cable Alternatives: Watch NFL Games Without Cable

More and more football fans are “cutting the cord” which just means they’ve decided to ditch cable. There a a few different new options for streaming NFL games online without a cable subscription. Fubo, Hulu Live, Sling and AT&T TV NOW will allow you to stream every NFL game (including the preseason!) this season and offer seven day free trials so you can be sure they meets your needs. You can cancel anytime and don’t need cable at all to sign up and start watching NFL games online from anywhere. These two are a great option because you know you’ll have access to ALL NFL games instead of just those that happen to be playing on one network or another. You can even watch a show like HBO’s Hard Knocks online live with either of these services.

Other Special NFL Games (Monday, Thursday and Sunday Night Football)

There are currently three NFL game types that fall outside the normal streaming schedule: Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football and Sunday Night Football. Each is on a different channel so check out our guides to make sure you’re up to date. MNF is typically on ESPN, TNF on NFL Network while SNF is on NBC this year.

Official Network Streaming Apps that Stream NFL Games

Several networks such as ESPN, CBS, NBC and FOX all have their own apps that allow you to stream NFL action online whenever those games happen to be on one of those channels. They all have restrictions based on your location and some of them even require you to subscribe to cable (ESPN and NFL Network, for example). So be sure to search your app store for a network app corresponding to the game you’re trying to watch. You might get blacked-out by the NFL’s restrictive rules but most of the network apps are actually free. Good luck!

‘Free’, Illegal NFL Live Streams

You may feel like giving up and resorting to one of those sketchy NFL live streams you found on an internet forum. We encourage you to try one of the legitimate NFL streaming options below as their revenues support the players, teams and stadiums you love. You’ll also avoid any run-ins with law enforcement as all NFL property is copyrighted and not to be rebroadcast or stolen in any form.

We will update this NFL Streaming Guide as facts change. Contact us if you see an error or have an addition.
